Using Computers to Find Information

Objectives:

• The learner will copy and paste an internet document into a word processing file and save it on a computer hard drive. 

• The learner will define the terms "per capita personal income," "civilian labor force," "occupation," "major employers," "estimated wages," "vocational training" "sector," "climate."

• The learner will locate and record information found on a Web site. 

Duration: 

     4 hours

• Computer work stations

• Computer Tutorial I

• Roanoke County Scavenger Hunt sheet

Activities:

1. Learners working individually complete the copy and paste activity in Computer Tutorial I.

2. Teacher introduces Scavenger Hunt activity and defines related terms.

3. Paired learners complete Scavenger Hunt activity.

Assessment:

Learners complete Computer Tutorial I. Learners correctly answer Scavenger Hunt questions.
