Asking and Answering Questions using Basic Vocabulary

Objectives:

  • The learner will formulate "Where?" questions and restate answers as sentences.

  • The learner will use "Who?", "Where?", "What?" and "Is there?/Are there?" questioning formats to ask and answer questions related to health care.

Duration:

 

     4 hours

 

Materials:

Activities:

  1. Teacher introduces health vocabulary, modeling pronunciation and directing students to repeat.

  2. Teacher conducts substitution drill with overhead projector and transparency of the human body.

  3. Learners take turns conducting restatement drill using "What is?"/"What are?" and "Is this?"/"Are these?" questions.

  4. Learners complete Asking Questions#2 sheet.

Assessment:

 

Teacher meets individually with each learner to evaluate written and verbal questioning skills and to receive learners' feedback on progress.
