Objectives:

The learner will compose a doctor/patient dialogue using vocabulary from Healthcare Vocabulary List, at least three frequency adverbs and body parts flashcards.

The learner will perform a dialogue orally in front of the class.

The learner will evaluate another learner's dialogue, providing corrections to spelling and grammar as necessary.

Teacher conducts review of body parts using body parts flashcards.

Teacher conducts chain drill review of frequency adverbs: "never," "rarely," "seldom," "sometimes," "often," "usually" and "always."("I rarely visit the doctor. How often do you visit the doctor?" etc.)

Teacher assigns learner pairs, directs each pair to write a dialogue of at least 10 lines with the following requirements: a) the patient is sick or has an injury b) the doctor explains the problem c) the patient tells the doctor about allergies and/or taking other medication d) the doctor fills out a prescription and/or tells the patient what do do to get better e) the dialogue must have at least three frequency adverbs.

Learner pairs complete dialogue.

Learners pairs exchange and critique dialogues providing corrections to spelling and grammar as necessary.

Learner pairs meet with teacher to review corrections.

Learner pairs perform dialogue in front of class.
Assessment:
Teacher monitors oral presentations, meets with each learner pair to review their dialogue and discuss corrections to grammar and/or spelling.
